Mobs of the Sift

One mob for Minecraft. A whole ecosystem in Dungeons II. We keep them apart.

Community-reported mob: the blub

BlubPassive · rabbit-like · squeaks

The blub is a small, passive, rabbit-like mob that squeaks. It hops up blocks like a rabbit and also has a normal walking animation. It was the single mob shown in the Minecraft reveal clip and is called the blub by community sources; we have not independently verified its name in the original broadcast. In Dungeons II it is an ambient mob with a pet variant, and blubs are seen bathing in ichor, the Sift's burning liquid, unharmed.

The sketch above is ours, drawn in code from the written description. It is not what the blub looks like.

Not confirmed for Minecraft: the Dungeons II cast

Xbox Wire says the Dungeons II Sift has "new mobs, both companions and threats, each with unique traits". The community wiki lists them by family. None of these has been shown or named for Minecraft Java or Bedrock.

Sculk and the Sift

Dungeons II frames the Sift as the original home of sculk, and says corrupted sculk comes from a disease that began there. That is a Dungeons II story fact. Whether Minecraft's Deep Dark will be tied to the Sift the same way has not been said.
